About Summit Swim
Summit Swim is bringing PediaSwim (a safe, effective and research based swim program) to Moore County in Vass, North Carolina.
As a PediaSwim trained instructor, I have completed a 4 week, 1:1 instructor training that included 100+ hours of in-water training at the SouthWest Aquatics facility in Winter Garden, Florida, with the founder of PediaSwim, Joy McGinty, who has 30+ years of experience.
Flexible scheduling and personalized instruction is offered to meet the needs of each child and family. Contact me when you are ready to schedule your child's first lesson!
Our Swim Lessons
Basic Training
The goal for swimmers is the ability to problem solve in the water no matter what the situation.
Swimmers learn age appropriate swimming postures to allow them to swim facedown in the water, rotate onto their back to a floating position that enables them to rest and breathe, then return to a facedown swimming posture.
Maintenance
For optimal skill retention, children should continue lessons once or twice a week in a Maintenance Program. However, if your child has not had lessons in an extended period of time, a Refresher Course will ensure your child is the independent, confident swimmer he/she was at the end of the Basic Training Course.
I will always carry a "what if" over Harley's death.
What if we didn't have a pool?
What if I had been aware of the drowning statistics?
What if I had heard of the 5 barriers of protection?
What if I had put him through self rescue swim lessons...
The last question is always the most difficult.

Drowning IS preventable and I picture life entirely different if Harley had the skills to save himself in that water.
